In late 2012, six residents (three from each community) and the Staff Horticulturist formed a committee to work on formulating an application for accreditation as a Level I arboretum through the ArbNet Program and recognized amongst other professional public gardens in the Morton Register of Arboreta. With formal approval granted in April 2013, an expanded governance structure has evolved to guide policy, operations and activities. Resident teams on each campus guide activities such as maintaining current Loop Walk lists and maps, planning educational programs, and organizing an Adopt-A-Tree program and suggesting new trees. A Joint Committee has been formed with members from both communities to guide policies and procedures. All Arboretum activities are under the guidance and supervision of the Kendal-Crosslands Grounds Supervisor.
Group tours can be arranged a week in advance by calling the Kendal-Crosslands Grounds Supervisor at (610) 388-5558. No dogs please!
