Mission and Goals
STATEMENT
Protecting natural resources is an important part of the Kendal Corporation tradition. The Kendal Crosslands Arboretum (KCA) assures good land stewardship, provides a serene setting, instills community pride, and offers educational experiences for residents and visitors.
GOALS
To implement this Mission Statement, the following goals have been established:
- Develop and maintain a documented collection of predominately woody landscape plants that is suited to the region in an attractive landscape setting that balances design concepts with species diversity.
- Improve the status of indigenous plant diversity and manage invasives. Additional woody plants will be planted to achieve a balance between native and exotic species.
- Ecological responsibility standards will be achieved through biodiverse and sustainable practices in landscape design and horticultural methodology.
- Convey the educational significance of the arboretum through publications, programs, and events.
